In the southern United States, food is serious business and that’s probably why Dallas, Texas is becoming a hospitality mecca. With the rise in people and companies moving into the area over the last decade, the conditions are perfect for new restaurants. However, with all the competition designers need to turn up the interior style a notch to draw customers in. Below are some of our favorite Dallas restaurants doing just that.
Ida ClaireIda Claire paired with ID Studio 4 to create the epitome of shabby chic style. With exposed wooden beams and AC ducting, this southern style restaurant gives off a warehouse feel. Antique bird cages hanging from the ceiling and a mural of vintage plates on the wall complete the rustic vibe. But the cherry on top is the vintage Airstream resting in the outdoor area alongside outdoor furniture. Decorated like a bohemian wagon, this converted camper allows for more private dining. Gung HoGung Ho is the brainchild of 8020 Hospitality and is a elegant yet funky American-Chinese late-night dining venue is a standout. Crystal chandeliers exude class, whilst bold blue bar stools give a pop of colour to the traditional oriental inspired interior. A hidden gem within the restaurant is the cosy dining space located nearby the bar. By featuring a long timber bar table and walls adorned in red floral wallpaper, this room offers diners a break from the high energy of the main dining area. Super ChixOwned by parent company Yum! Brands, Super Chix is a fried chicken eatery for Dallas foodies. Created by Studio 11 Design, the interior makes for the vibrant and lively atmosphere the micro-chain is known for. Pairing Copine style chairs with timber banquette seating, both with vibrant yellow edges, gives the room an industrial yet fun look. Hotel San Francisco is our latest project and it is the American dream. Well, the American hospitality dream at least. It’s nestled in the financial district of San Francisco, but certainly doesn’t give off straight laced, corporate vibes. This funky and modern venue takes it’s biggest interior inspiration from the world of music. The name of the restaurant even pays tribute to the Eagle’s hit ‘Hotel California’. With artists like Prince, Biggie Smalls and Tina Turner framed on the walls it would have anyone walking out of work for drinks like this- [WPGP gif_id="1890" width="600"] Hey, any opportunity for a Tina Turner GIF, am I right?
Inside Hotel San FranciscoThe Australian owners, Thomas Glenwright, Paul Schulte, and Priscilla Dosiou, went back to their Aussie roots and recruited us to tackle the furniture. The concept for the pieces were brass with bold fabric to give a luxe modern nod to a 70’s lounge (minus the shag carpet). Complete with a custom playlist made by fellow Australian company, Mustard, and neon light décor the place practically oozes cool. (image) (image) The heart of the venue is clearly the bar, with custom bar stools in streamline steel paired with dark teal velvet that make a big impact. Lining the windows are the Saffron Bar Stools tucked under our Stainless Steel Brass Table Tops and Brass Table Bases. The custom pieces continue into the dining area with matching brass metal chairs to tie the spaces together. So welcome to Hotel San Francisco (California), it’s such a lovely place/ such a lovely place. (image)
